How does the U.S. Congress, as it exists in its current structure, support and/or limit authentic representation?

The United States congress is the most powerful law-making organizations in the world, due to the voting processes but also, the money backing them as representatives of congress. They have the abundance of getting elected by the people and for the people. But they also have boo koo bucks rolling in from their partners/ sponsors.

First off they must have the money to back them while running or while in congress. This is why congressmen or women hold positions forever. THey have the backing of public media displays such as t.v. networks and radio stations. This is what makes congressmen or women have so much power for one. THe other reason congress is not what the founding fathers were hoping it to be is due to the cutting of lines for the districts during voting processes. AKA gerrymandering. It has ruined the popular vote by cutting the district lines and cutting votes out of the equation. This is beneficial to their success of obtaining their seat in the senate or house. It's dumbfounding that this is allowed to happen, I can't believe that it seems that that the votes people fill out to "Voice their opinion and what they want" gets thrown to the dumps. THis needs to change. It's not what this Nation was founded on.

  1. Peer Review:

The blog I am reviewing is based on the perception of the student of how Congress works. The student expresses congress as a law-making organization. As well as continuing into the focus of how congress is voted into their seats and the uselessness of the people’s votes. I will go into some expressions of this blog to review.
I actually found this blog to be amusing but intriguing at the same time. One of the strengths that I found in the blog was the personality that Mike brings to the table. Using phrases such as “boo-koo bucks” and such that makes the blog readable and interesting. I also was inspired by how Mike brings the subject of Congress being “backed” by the media. My favorite part though was his expressions of the vote cuts and how he strongly questions the votes that people fill out are placed in the “dumps” as Mike put it. I can agree with Mike that our nation was not founded for this reason and I would guess that he would agree with me that our founding fathers are “rolling in their graves” over what is currently happening to the Constitution they put so much effort into.
Improvement. I hate this part, I love people’s opinions. However its hard to support an opinion without listed quotations or sources of where the thought strand came from. So my suggestion is to place more references into the article so as to make the blog more concrete and strong. Upholding his beliefs so as to not be questioned. When I read the blog I thought, “wow, this guy has a great and challenging outlook on what he believes on. But where is the facts so I can believe it?”
Overalll I found the blog to be enhancing in thought with the creativity and personality of the writer. Keep that personality and beliefs going!! However, also express it through sources so as to create a more concrete arguement.
